Common Courtesy.

I just finished reading Ellen DeGeneres’s book, [Seriously … I’m kidding] just in a day and I would say it’s quite a good book (I was searching for this particular book for a long, long time and then I found it at Virgin Megastores for LE156. Without doubt I just grab it even though it’s quite expensive. Here’s some tips that I learn after a few experiences; if you like something, just get it or you’ll never have it.

I like Ellen. I like her sense of humor, her wits and her trademark that she said at the end of her show “be kind to one another”. I find that she is very inspiring to me.

Well, there is a particular chapter in this book that bring me here, sitting in front of this laptop to write down this, this particular subject  that might sound cliché as it can be but I do think we need to do something about it. We need to change it.

That chapter she wrote about common courtesy on how she likes to be early and hate when people are late. So do me. I hate to be late because I too, have kind a sense of respect go people’s time and secondly because my watch was set to be 10 minutes early on purpose.  It is just annoying when people bring the term “common Malay behavior” when every time on a meeting or date you have to expect people will be late and so on.

Also when we talked about this, it brings us to the level of mentality of our people (Malay, Malaysian?) that maybe I’m stereotyping but it does happened, all the time to me. Maybe when a person is late in about 3-5 minutes that might be acceptable but 1 hour? You got to have good reason on that like your cats got sick or anything, maybe not traffic jam or … I don’t know.

The thing is this. Being early on anything you’re up to is not just about being able to keep on track of your plan and able to work it efficiently but also about respect and common courtesy that I think we need to change the way we look on that, as right now I think it is socially acceptable to be late as it is not a big deal or it’s a small matter. Maybe you think it’s a small stuff and I’ll leave that to you but considering all of the possible consequences that might happen; it is a big deal, to me.

Last but not least, it’s not that hard to just be ready earlier than we should, as it’s also a good habit and maybe it’s more than that like saying ‘thank you’, ‘please’ or just be kind to one another. It’s just a simple manner that was taught when we were kids. Above of all of this writing, my point is it’s nice to be punctual, to be on time.

Refleksi 2014

Alhamdulillah,. Dah nak tamat 2014.

Dugaan tahun ni ( Tragedi MH370, MH 17, Putting beliung, Banjir besar) biarlah jadi pengajaran buat kita yang Allah itu takkan menguji kalau tidak tak mampu.

Bala atau kafarah. Itu atas kita. Cara kita terima.

This year  has been a great year of my life (so far) and I hope 2015 will be better.

Banyak perkara yang penting jadi tahun ni. *ecewah*

Not to say that I’m completely reach my goals or what. Hanya sekadar refleksi buat diri aku ni yang tak seberapa.

Cuma, nak share kat sini few things that I managed to accomplish this year.

First. I start baking dan start jual even terima order which means I get to do what I love to and get something from it. Walaupun tak seberapa, Jadilah untuk tanggung sikit buat beli handphone baru.

The best  part from baking I get to make my Ibu her birthday cake. and her reactions on that moment, is beyond what I can say here. It’s something that I’ll always remember. Tapi tak sempat buat ayah punya birthday cake. Dan wish ja. Sebab dah fly dah waktu bday ayah.

Kedua, aku dapat pengalaman mengaji pengajian pondok.

Tau madrasah pondok?

Cuma tak la tidur/makan situ. Cuma dapat rasa biah, cara tarbiah depa. Dan pengajian di situ mengajar seribu satu cerita. InsyaAllah post yang lain kot. Jenuh 1001 nak cerita dalam post ni.

Ketiga, terbang ke benua Afrika. Sampai ke bumi Musa (as). Entah, macam tak real tapi memang camtu lah ceritanya.

Moga Allah kuatkan hati untuk terus teguh dengan tali dia.

Dan moga aku bermanfaat buat ummah juga. Doakan.

Dan cukup disini saja kot, nak cerita lebih habis la special value. Tak gitu?

So, sempena nak masuk tahun baru masihi tajdid niat selalu. Pasak azam teguh teguh. Biar utuh walau ribut merempuh. *cewah*

Akhiaq sekali, nak rekemen buku. Catatan Matluthfi . First aku ingat buku ni lebih kepada nak cita hidup dia, cara belajar dia etc.. tapi senang cerita buku ni mengajak kita berfikir tentang banyak perkara.Dari politik sehingga society.Sarcasm dia pun boleh tahan. Aha :B  Dan aku memang rekemen hampa semua beli bagi ada sorang satu. Bermanfaat insyaAllah.

Okay,
Today i' gonna do a book review. On a book that to me, it's really special and I totally like it.

for one more day by Mitch Albom

 

Well, i'm a bookworm *kinda* and I love reading books. And after reading this book, Mitch Albom is my another favorite author (I like Nicholas Sparks too). this book makes me smile,wistful and blink back tears of nostalgia.

The story is about a broken man, named Charley Benetto who struggled with personal problems like alcohol addiction, divorce and others. He is really closed to his mom and one day, she died. With a huge regrets, because of something that he did wrong.... he become to ruin his life, his job and others.

But he got a chances, to met her mother. Again. *the rest you have to read this book! ^^*

Besides, this book is suitable for all ages and easy to understand (which is suitable for a not-so-good-in-English boy like me). I'm highly recommended this book.

To Malaysian, this book cost only MYR 32.95 at Kinokuniya, KLCC. I'm ot sure in other store but if you have member card... it will be cheaper. For those from other country, go find it in your nearest bookstore and let me know what your thought on this book.
